Sevens: instructions and practice

Read the position before choosing your next action. Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each. Try the rule on the board, then read the next instruction.

Four-player free Sevens with three local computer opponents. This table uses the seven-of-diamonds opening and low Aces.

A focus for your next round

Use the controls beside the game rather than guessing the rules. Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end. Start a new round when you are ready to try again.

The challenge in front of you

Begin with the basic rule, then follow the result of your action. Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens. Try the rule on the board, then read the next instruction.

Follow these playing steps

  1. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each.
  2. The holder of 7♦ must play it first. Other suits can open with their own seven.
  3. Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end.
  4. Play a legal card whenever possible. Passing is allowed only when no card fits.
  5. The first player with an empty hand wins the round.

Using the playing area

Take a moment to check the current turn. Tap an enabled card from your hand. The suit rows show cards already played. Use Pass only when it is enabled. Keep the goal in mind before your next move.

Learn from a sample situation

Begin with the basic rule, then follow the result of your action. After 7♥ is opened, 6♥ or 8♥ can be played. 5♥ must wait until 6♥ is on the table. The game area remains available above the explanation.

Where a round can go wrong

A careful first move helps you understand the round. A matching rank in another suit does not extend an existing row. Every suit has its own sequence. Start a new round when you are ready to try again.
